Having Trouble with Time Management? Here is a Step-by-Step Guide on Getting Started
My personal experience on tackling this dilemma
--
I always was a person who just went with the flow of things. As an adolescent and towards becoming an adult, I realized if I wanted to make a true impact on my life, I needed to learn the power of time management.
The reason is simple, I wanted to be able to make use of the time I had in a day. When I was young, this was easy because I only needed to focus on myself. But, when I became a parent, well sh*T, my way of doing things seem to cause more stress than help.
When you have kids, it’s a lot harder to stay on top of things. You not only need to show up for yourself but for the likes of others – in this case your kids. And that sh*t is hard. Not doing so, can result in you being a bum as a parent — No-one wants that label.
So you have to create a game plan that really dedicates time around them and their development.
It took me a while to get here. To be frank, I have more than one child, all under the age of 6.
What Motivated me to change?
It was my oldest son. He was actually the reason for this shift. It didn’t truly occur until he went to school last year. Then came the sports, which if you felt like you didn’t have time before, really caused a sense of panic.
Instead of wishing I was better, I tried to break bad habits into smaller steps. While this may sounds easy to do, it's way harder than you think.
I didn’t want to try to figure this out on my own, so I enlisted some help. Now, I am somewhat of a successful mother. I was able to work my way up corporate and earn a decent living making 6+ figures, all while building my family.
Honestly speaking, It was alot trying to manager your household and be pregnant while dealing with toddlers, and coach via side gigs. To some, I am doing great, but I still have a problem with time management.
I told myself each year, I will focus on a different aspect of myself. This year is this very concept. We are halfway through the year and I have barely did a good job changing my current…
